LINZ Wellington

Europlan has been working with Land Information NZ (LINZ) since 2015. We have been a trusted supplier delivering day to day business as usual furniture requirements.

In 2017 our Wellington Team completed a full furniture audit for LINZ. This involved a comprehensive stock take of all furniture across six floors at Radio NZ House.

The data we gathered provided a full report with recommendations for improved consistency, space optimisation and health and safety. The Property team at LINZ used this report to assist in prioritising building improvements and as part of their long-term property strategy.

We received the opportunity to quote for the restack in May 2019 and proposed a solution to assist LINZ in converting their six floors from a fixed height desking system to electric height adjustable.

We worked with LINZ to deliver a brief that focused on cost saving and sustainable outcomes for the project.

Project Planning

The project was confirmed, and orders placed at the beginning of June 2019. A total of 678 work points were required to provide LINZ with max occupancy, a mixture of new desks and utilisation of existing systems. Preserving the budget of the project and hitting key deadlines and milestones formed the basis of our project management approach for the restack.

The entire LINZ office remained fully occupied throughout the duration of the work, so all deliveries and installation work took place outside of normal office hours. We proposed a five-stage project plan running from 13th July – 10th Aug 2019 with an extra weekend for final walk through and touch ups.

Project Management

The LINZ Project Manager, Ingrid Saxon was organised and had a clear vision. We met regularly to prepare for each stage of the restack and maintained effective and open communication leading up to Stage 1 and all throughout the delivery and install phases.

The project management program was efficient and achievable and saw us hit all milestones for the restack. Stage 3 was the biggest weekend with a 98- desk removal and install over two days. To ensure we completed this stage on time we had all the product delivered to our consolidation point in Wellington early and began assembling desks in the week leading up to this critical phase.

I don’t want to deal with a sales rep, I want to deal with a relationship manager who has a genuine interest in our organisation and who sees value to me in offering solutions, not value in it for themselves. That’s Europlan.
