In July 2021, Wyma Solutions contacted our Christchurch team requesting a quote for lockers. The initial meeting to go over options for locker storage turned into discussions about a full building fit out taking place in 2023. 

Wyma Solutions were operating from one address location in several buildings that housed factory and office functions separately.

Wyma had outgrown these spaces and were beginning a journey of planning and delivering a purpose-built facility that could accommodate their people under one roof and better connect them with their global team.

Project Scope

The new footprint would include a state-of-the-art factory and modern offices including focus workspace, training and meeting rooms, a boardroom, breakout and collaboration spaces, social café and kitchen areas, and a warm reception and foyer area.

Part of this process was ensuring the needs of all team members were addressed in the design of the new workspace. Wyma carefully considered the change management piece of the move and made smart decisions around the inclusion of acoustic treatments and a variety of spaces for staff to work and socialise.

It presented the opportunity to introduce new ways of working with the leadership team visible throughout the open plan workspace in accessible offices and the addition of training rooms, event spaces and large café and outdoor spaces for everyone to enjoy.

The design of these social and informal spaces allows Wyma to plan regular on-site events that bring their teams together. This is nurturing familiarity and connection and ultimately strengthening the organisational culture.

Project Solutions

The new facility comprises an 8700m2 factory floor and 1508m2 of office floor plate. This is now home to 160 staff across a mix of functions. It has provided a premium and welcoming experience for staff and visitors and comes with a future focussed approach to workplace design.

The meeting and collaboration areas are enhanced with innovative technology solutions that allow Wyma to connect with their global team.
The open environment features ‘hub’ areas for teamwork, plenty of privacy and break out spaces with quiet rooms and informal meeting spaces that provide visual privacy.

This was a fantastic to project to be involved in, allowing our team at Europlan to do what they do best, deliver inspiring workspaces. It was a pleasure working with Danny, Debbie and the Wyma team and we’re excited to keep working with them to ensure the space continues to function.
