In March this year we completed a project for Ministry for Pacific Peoples (MPP) in Wellington. MPP conducted a tender process in October 2020 and invited the government property group furniture panellists to respond. MPP selected Europlan as the sole supplier for the full floor fitout.
In their current state, MPP occupied one floor in their existing building and had hit capacity, with future growth on the horizon it was time to expand the organisation to include the floor above. The expansion provided the opportunity to include a variety of functions onto the new floor. This included allowing for more desk space, meeting room and event space and the addition of away from the desk workspace.
Half of the floor is dedicated to workstations, allowing the ability to flex as the Ministry takes on more staff and the remainder is a mixture of café space, breakout space and flexible meeting and large gathering space. The nature of the furniture solutions provided for the event space, such as folding tables and stackable chairs, mean the zone is designed for multi-purpose use. From large functions to video conferencing, and everything in between. We worked together with MPP on a range of fabrics and finishes to capture a Pasifika influence in the furniture. This complimented existing features throughout the office space and supported the organisation’s branding.
During the project delivery and installation phase we worked with limited access to the building. No loading dock or goods lift meant our team worked with access to one public lift at a time while bringing product into the space, ensuring we didn’t disrupt the activity of staff on site as it was still an open and functioning office. Our installation began while construction was still being completed on one side of the floor, we worked together with the construction team in the same space to achieve project completion by the required date.
