Ockham Residential – Manaaki Lockers

Located in the heart of Onehunga, Auckland, sits residential development Manaaki. With gardens, beaches and Maungakiekie One Tree Hill as its neighbours this development also features an expansive backyard of its own. A pool, subtropical gardens, a luxurious residents lounge, work-from-home offices, and an in-house café all contribute to creating a united community feel.

Manaaki is the 18th development by the team at Ockham Residential and Europlan worked with Ockham to supply custom locker storage for the carpark levels.

Ockham created the custom design and Europlan assisted with incorporating a bespoke mesh top to the locker design, to allow for the contents of a sprinkler to come through in the event of a fire.

Manufactured in steel, each locker featured height adjustable legs to accommodate an incline on the floor and to manoeuvre around services such as ducting, fans and car charging ports in the car parking area of the building.

To achieve project milestones, we ran a staged delivery over a 4-week period. With some of the lockers weighing up to 245kgs each, our project manager worked up a plan to ensure health and safety was at the forefront of the project delivery. The lockers were delivered to site in containers, devanned onto pallets and transported to each level by forklift due to the weight loading.

The project ran smoothly and to time and included careful navigation of a 2.1m height clearance, using a 1.9m high forklift to carry the pallets to their location.

A total of 202 custom steel lockers were delivered and installed into this project, 84 standard floor lockers and 118 over bonnet lockers.  They are now set as a standard design option for new Ockham developments.
