Europlan has been supplying furniture to Massey University across their national campus since 2019. Throughout this time, we have gained an in-depth understanding of Massey’s user experience objectives and the type of furniture that fits and exceeds these requirements.
Europlan understands that the student experience extends beyond the classroom with much of today’s learning occurring outside the traditional teaching spaces, but this doesn’t mean it needs to be off campus.
Europlan has worked with Massey to create a lifestyle experience blending social and academic needs seamlessly. We have delivered innovative multifunctional teaching and learning environments, collaborative & social spaces and much more.

Project Scope
Massey wanted to activate an outdoor space right in the heart of their Wellington Campus, outside Block 12. They were drawn to the unique aesthetic of the Europlan Outdoor Pod with its specially adapted waterproof materials that allow it to be permanently located outside and stay protected from the, at times wild, Wellington weather. The Pods are available as open, part enclosed or as a fully enclosed unit with weather-proof timber/composite interiors or as an outdoor office pod specification with cushioned seating and bolstered fabric interior.
Project Outcomes
Massey wanted to give the campus community the opportunity to meet, work or simply have somewhere outside to hang out at any time of the year. The Outdoor Pods fit the brief entirely with solar panels and integrated power & USB charging for a totally connected experience.
Having a variety of seating options encourages students, staff, and visitors to relax, socialise, learn, and stay nourished. These types of informal and collaborative spaces become part of the fabric that holds the campus community together, encouraging impromptu meetings and providing opportunity for interdisciplinary connections.
