This Government Agency are continuing to transform how they work as part of an ongoing journey towards being a modern, innovative workplace.
Building on sound foundations, they are taking opportunities to redesign their workplaces and the way they work in them to deliver a modern, agile, appealing and collaborative environment for their people.
For this agency, flexibility at work comes in different forms and is about having choices. It’s about how, where and when their people work, and being open to exploring options that find the balance between individual needs, team needs and organisational needs.
This existing agency portfolio comprises 21 separate workplaces across 17 different locations and the goal is to launch the programme to multiple office locations within the portfolio over a multi-year timeframe. The delivery of this significant property strategy will maximise existing floorplates, while simultaneously creating spaces that enable flexible working.
The first stage of this programme was the design and fitout of their Wellington offices. Using this phase of the programme to establish design principles and a change management framework that will act as a template as they rollout this new working style across the portfolio.
Europlan had successfully secured the contract as the furniture partner for this agency as part of a formal procurement process, proving our capabilities to provide expertise and public value for money, backed by a nationwide, experienced and solutions-focused team.
With the move to transform current office workspaces to modern working environments, Europlan worked with the client to refresh or redesign existing spaces, as part of a nationwide roll out. This partnership allowed us to provide our expertise and guidance in workplace design and our approach to managing hard and soft fitouts.
It was important that these client workplaces had a consistent look and feel and design aesthetic. Europlan was selected for the project due to our wide-ranging furniture portfolio, our ability to manufacture and design bespoke solutions and our capacity to effectively service the whole of Aotearoa New Zealand.
Since December 2021, Europlan has provided nationwide account and project management for all furniture requirements for this agency and our rrelationship with their project people focuses on our whole team approach to handling nationwide account & project management.
Crucial to success, was ensuring Europlan had an onsite Project Manager to oversee the delivery and installation of the fit-out. Great working relationships were formed and Europlan believes our flexible, confident attitude provides reassurance to our partnerships and allows us to deliver on our projects above and beyond.
From a client point of view, onsite project management also meant that Europlan could talk Agency Project Managers through the stages of delivery and install and assure the client team on certain elements as questions naturally arose. Weekly project status reports were sent to the client with copies of the risk and issues register.
Project delivery and install was managed in phases of floor by floor. Each phase was treated as its own project which meant we could implement any changes to the next stages based on our lessons learned and vice versa with replicating the successes of each phase.
Europlan installed the Refresh Pods during the construction phase while the site was managed by the main contractor. The Europlan project team were all site inducted and daily talks between installers and project manager meant that any hazards could be reported and treated in a timely manner.
This was a standout project and speaks volumes about the productive working relationship we have with this client. It is a testament to how great partnerships can create something better, together.
