This Government Agency are continuing to transform how they work as part of an ongoing journey towards being a modern, innovative workplace. Launching from solid foundations, they are taking opportunities to redesign their workplaces to deliver a modern, agile, appealing and collaborative environment for their people.
For this agency, flexibility at work comes in different forms and is about having choices. It’s about how, where and when their people work, and being open to exploring options that find the balance between individual needs, team needs and organisational needs. The delivery of this significant property strategy will maximise existing floorplates, while simultaneously creating spaces that enable flexible working.
The recent completion of their new Ōtautahi Christchurch office is no exception. This is a brand-new build, featuring stunning architectural features, a modern and elegant interior palette and thoughtfully designed custom furniture solutions.
Europlan were proud to partner with Architects Warren & Mahoney (WAM) on the fitout delivery and installation for this project. Our strong understanding of the agency’s property strategy meant we were able to make recommendations on the product and finish selections to achieve consistency across the portfolio and work within budget considerations.
This collaboration worked very well and ultimately ensured the outcomes were client focused and aligned with the nationwide vision for future workplaces.
Europlan manufactured some notable locally made solutions for this project. Including custom locker joinery, a 14-piece bespoke koru style curved soft seating and custom organic sofa settings. These were all made to architect drawing specifications and used Aotearoa NZ manufacturing facilities.
To ensure we managed budget and project timing requirements seamlessly, we pre-ordered critical items with long lead times in advance and long lead time critical items in advance + items that were due price increases to hold pricing
Since December 2021, Europlan has provided nationwide account and project management for all furniture requirements for this agency and our relationship with their project people focuses on our whole team approach.
This project was no exception. With a two-week timeframe to deliver and install both floors of the project, we split our team into two and delivered an efficient and focused installation program.
Crucial to success, was ensuring Europlan had an onsite Project Manager to oversee the fit-out. Parts of the building still had contractors and trades completing work and we needed to work in tandem with them to install product on the floor, and ensure it was kept in excellent condition.
Onsite project management also meant that Europlan could talk the client through the stages of delivery and install and handle questions as they naturally arose and make straightforward and quick to decisions as the delivery and installation progressed.
The multifaceted experience our PM’s bring to a project also means they’re confident and knowledgeable when it comes to overseeing the ordering of extra product solutions as and when required. Ensuring the project moves along smoothly and decisions are made with the needs of the client at the forefront.
It’s so fulfilling to see a project come to life from plans and a product pick list to a completed multi-dimensional fit out. The result of a successful partnership between ourselves, the architect and the agency.
